Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins

For this week's Tuesdays with Dorie selection, Betsy of A Cup of Sweetness chose Lemon Poppyseed Muffins on page 10 of Dorie's book, Baking: From My Home to Yours.

I blogged about these in 2008 (seems like yesterday) and loved them. I also made them with the jam filling. I've brought them to morning meetings in the past few years, and it was nice to make them again. Starting your day with some lemon zest is always a winner.
